The 2013 Detroit Jazz Festival was bigger than ever with four active stages from Hart Plaza by the river into the heart of downtown; some action on a fifth "acoustic stage" within the Talk Tent along with the annual Downbeat Blindfold Test. Danilo Perez was Artist in Residence and appeared in various contexts throughout a weekend that paid tribute to Detroit's "home grown" jazz giants along with a multi-part tribute to Dave Brubeck. As always, there was far more music than any single human can cover. See
